Pick-ups and Drop-offs
We provide complimentary pick up and drop off to Newark Airport (EWR), South Amboy-NJ Train Station, and local areas within 10 miles of our South Amboy office. Pick up from EWR is guaranteed with confirmed flights only and we will need to know your flight details ahead of time.
CASH DEPOSITS ARE NOT ACCEPTED
Autoteam Car Rental accepts the following rental deposits: Debit Card, VISA, Master Card, and AMEX. If you are using a debit card, there is a $500 hold and $200 hold for a Credit Card placed on your card on top of the rental fees for the duration of the rental.
Autoteam Car Rental accepts the following methods of payment: Debit Card, VISA, Master Card, AMEX. Cash and will be accepted for payment, but a credit card must be on file for the hold.
Two additional drivers are permitted for an additional charge of $ 5/ per day (Includes all drivers). For long term rentals please inquire about this fee being waived.
The minimum age to rent is 21. For renters ages 21-25 there is an under age fee of $10/day. Under Age drivers need to provide proof of Automobile Insurance
Domestic Security Fee
A vehicle rented over 28 days is considered lease and therefore is not subject to the Domestic Security Fee.
Last Step to Confirm Reservation
Please contact our office with your credit card information to ensure that your reservation is confirmed. If you are going to need a pick-up or drop-off, please be at our office no later than 4pm. Long Term rentals are given special consideration for after/before hour pick-ups/drop-offs.
If you are flying into Newark Airport, please note we are not on airport property. We are 20 miles south of the airport. We provided complimentary transportation to/from the airport with a confirmed flight. Please provide your flight information so we track your flight for accurate arrival time. We will pick you up at the “Passenger Pick-up” location at your arriving terminal.
Holding Your Reserved Vehicle
We at Autoteam Car Rental will hold a confirmed vehicle reservation for not more than one half hour past the scheduled pick up time. Please call us if you are going to be late by more than one half hour. No shows will be charged 100% of the rental charge.
Please be aware your reservation will be held on your scheduled date/time. If you do not arrive and do not cancel your reservation at least 48 hours before this time, your credit card will be assessed a No-Show fee equivalent to one day’s rental.
Van reservations require a 20% deposit to guarantee the rental. For these reservations, if you fail to cancel the reservation within 2 days of your scheduled pickup day, the deposit will be not be refunded. However, you can apply the deposit to a future rental.
Insurance and Coverage
Renter has to have proof of valid personal automobile insurance. Autoteam does not provide Liability insurance for vehicles. We have additional Collision Damage Waiver insurance options available for purchase with either a $200 or $1000 deductible. Daily cost of the insurance is based on your rental vehicle.
Our policy is clear and simple. No one wants to sit in a car that has pet hair or odor in it. So please do not transport dogs or cats in the vehicle. If the vehicle comes back with pet dirt or odor you will be charged an additional fee for cleaning and deodorizing the vehicle. The charge is a minimum of $300. If you must travel with your pet please inquire about our pet designated vehicles.
There is a 5-day minimum rental for all Holiday Weekends. Holidays include Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Christmas, etc.
Our policy for refueling gas is very simple. Please return the vehicle with the same gasoline level as when you took the vehicle. The fuel level amount will be printed on your Car Rental Contract that you will review and sign. If you return it with less gasoline, we will charge you for the estimate fuel cost plus $20. So please check your gas level before returning the vehicle.
NO repairs of any kind, no matter how large or small may be done to the rental vehicle without written approval of the management. If a repair is done without approval, the renter will be fully responsible for any and all additional repair work that might be needed in order to properly repair the rental vehicle and to bring it back to its pre-rental condition. For approved repairs, please keep all original receipts for reimbursement at drop off.
Tickets, Violations, Summons and Customer Responsibility
The renter is fully and totally responsible for any parking, traffic and E-Z Pass summons during the time of the rental. If you receive a violation and we are notified of this, we will charge your credit/debit card for the summons PLUS a $100 administrative fee. For EZ pass tolls there is a $4.95 per toll day service fee charged in case they are sent to our office.So please be very aware of obeying all traffic rules on the road; not doing so will cost you much more in the end.
Tire Damage and Tire Replacement
Each one of our Autoteam cars is equipped with a spare tire (unless the vehicle has run flat tires), a jack and lug wrench. Each Autoteam RV is equipped with only a spare tire and no tools (due to insurance restrictions customers are not to change the tires of RVs but MUST call for roadside assistance). For cars, It is the sole responsibility of the renter to replace the tire with the spare and for the cost of a replacement tire. Autoteam will be responsible for normal wear and tear of tires. Please drive carefully and be aware of the streets ahead of you.
Vehicles may be taken throughout the US and Canada (except for Economy cars). No vehicles are permitted in Mexico.
