Unauthorized Repairs
NO repairs of any kind, no matter how large or small may be done to the rental vehicle without written approval of the management. If a repair is done without approval, the renter will be fully responsible for any and all additional repair work that might be needed in order to properly repair the rental vehicle and to bring it back to its pre-rental condition. For approved repairs, please keep all original receipts for reimbursement at drop off.

Holding Your Reserved Vehicle
We at Autoteam Car Rental will hold a confirmed vehicle reservation for not more than one half hour past the scheduled pick up time. Please call us if you are going to be late by more than one half hour. No shows will be charged 100% of the rental charge.

Tickets, Violations, Summons and Customer Responsibility
The renter is fully and totally responsible for any parking, traffic and E-Z Pass summons during the time of the rental. If you ignore and do not pay the summons that you received and we are notified of this, we will charge your credit/debit card for the summons PLUS a $100 administrative fee. So please be very aware of obeying all traffic rules on the road; not doing so will cost you much more in the end.

International Drivers
International Drivers are welcome. We gladly ACCEPT foreign drivers license from many countries, and of course all international licenses are accepted. Drivers with foreign licenses, must bring their passport and Visa. If you are living in the USA permanently or temporarily, you must bring with you proof of where you reside. This might be a telephone bill or a pay stub. We must be able to identify your place of residence while in the USA. These requirements are due to Homeland Security issues. If you are staying with family or friends while in the USA, you must supply us with their address and valid telephone number.

Pick-ups and Drop-offs
Complimentary pick up and drop off will be provided for Newark Airport (EWR), South Amboy-NJ Train Station, and local areas within 10 miles of our South Amboy office.

Domestic Security Fee
A vehicle rented over 28 days is considered leasing and therefore is not subject to the Domestic Security Fee.

Pets
Our policy is clear and simple. No one wants to sit in a car that has pet hair or odor in it. So please do not transport dogs or cats in the vehicle. If the vehicle comes back with pet dirt or odor you will be charged an additional fee for cleaning and deodorizing the vehicle. The charge is a minimum of $300. If you must travel with your pet please inquire about our pet designated vehicles.

Holiday Rentals
There is a 5-day minimum rental for all Holiday Weekends. Holidays include Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Christmas, etc.

Gasoline Refueling
Our policy for refueling gas is very simple. Please return the vehicle with the same gasoline level as when you took the vehicle. The fuel level amount will be printed on your Car Rental Contract that you will review and sign. If you return it with less gasoline, we will charge you for the estimate fuel cost plus $20. So please check your gas level before returning the vehicle.

Tire Damage
Each one of our Autoteam cars is equipped with a spare tire (unless the vehicle has run flat tires), a jack and lug wrench. Each Autoteam RV is equipped with only a spare tire and no tools (due to insurance restrictions customers are not to change the tires of RVs but MUST call for roadside assistance). For cars, It is the sole responsibility of the renter to replace the tire with the spare and for the cost of a replacement tire. Autoteam will be responsible for normal wear and tear of tires and damage caused to tires and rims only due to a roadside hazard. Please drive carefully and be aware of the streets ahead of you.

One-Way Rentals
We offer One-Way Rentals for LA, San Francisco and Seattle. Please when inquiring or placing a request for a One-Way Rental, ask for the cost up front because this cost will vary depending on the location.

Age Requirements
You must be over the age of 21 years old to rent.

Additional Drivers
Three additional drivers permitted at an additional charge of $ 5.00 per day (includes all drivers). For long term rentals this fee is usually waived. Minimum age for additional drivers is 21.

Deposit Requirements
A deposit of 20% will be taken at time of booking. The remainder is due at pick up. Cash deposits are not accepted. Upon pick up, a security deposit of $500 will be taken on your credit card ($1000 for debit cards). Autoteam Car Rental accepts the following credit cards: Visa, Master Card, and American Express.

Payment Methods
Autoteam Car Rental accepts the following methods of payment: Debit Card, Traveler's Checks, Visa Check, Visa, Master Card, American Express, Direct Bill (with special approval). Sorry no refunds for prepaid miles or unused rental time.

Insurance Policies and Surcharges
You can purchase insurance for as little as $5.00 a day. If you have your own insurance, we will need proof of collision coverage. There are two options: Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with a $200 deductible for $6.95 a day or Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with $1000 deductible for $5.00 per day. This means the customer is only responsible for the first $200 or $1000 worth of damage depending on which option you choose.

Cancellation Policy
Our cancellation policy is as follows: Under 30 days prior to departure---10% of rental will be charge;30-15 days prior to departure---20% of rental will be charged; 14-8 days prior to departure---30% of rental will be charged; within 7 days of departure/no show---100% of rental will be charged.

Geographic Restrictions
Vehicles may be taken throughout the US and Canada (except for Economy cars). No vehicles are permitted in Mexico.
